Project 2 Abstract
The movie, Paranormal Activity, has captivated audiences all over the United States. Although this movie is not the typical Hollywood-style movie, it scares the audience in a different way: the fear of this-could-really-happen. The movie trailer for this horror-flick allows the audience to see the simplicity of the storyline, and appeals to that adrenaline rush that comes from fear (although most would say that it is ‘fiction’). In my paper, I would like to analyze the ways in which the content of the trailer entrances the viewers and make them want to see this movie. What is it in the trailer that makes people want to go see such a movie? Is it the sound effects that are used? Or is it the actual content-the acting and events- that makes each viewer to check over his/her shoulder?
