Thinking Space

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” - Mark Twain

Kairos

Kairos is the being able to establish the right time to do or say something. In today’s rapidly-changing society, there are many new advances; texting, facebook, webcams. When is it appropriate to use LOL- and when does the use of this abbreviation become a nuisance? Using this in a formal paper because it would seem ridiculously out of place, taking away from the credibilty of the writer. Texting someone is not always appropriate. For example if someone just went through a difficult time or situation, it seems more appropriate to call them and see how they are rather than texting to make sure they are okay. It is all about judging the situation and determining when it is appropriate to say or do something.
